Turkey Taco Filling

It keeps for months and tastes just as good on beef and chicken.

Chili powder

Ground cumin

Paprika

Table salt

Dried oregano

Garlic powder
½ tsp(s)
Onion powder

Cayenne pepper

Uncooked extra lean ground turkey breast

Apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp(s)
Unpacked brown sugar

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne. Set aside.

In a 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook the turkey over medium-high heat, breaking up the meat with the back of a spoon, until no longer pink, 4 to 5 minutes.

Sprinkle the turkey with the spice mix and add 1⁄2 cup water. Reduce heat and simmer until most of the liquid has absorbed, 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the vinegar and sugar and cook until the flavors have blended, 2 to 3 minutes.
